In our school we see art as the expression of children’s ideas, thoughts and feelings, through sensory experience in a variety of two and three dimensional media. We seek to develop observational skills and visual literacy; to enable understanding and appreciation of art from a variety of cultures, styles and periods through time. Our main aims are: to promote children’s enjoyment of art; to develop self-confidence; for children to value their own imagery and appreciation of the work of others.
