Assessment

Introduction

In 2016 the assessment of children at the end of Key Stage 2 changed significantly. The old system of Levels was replaced by scaled scores. At the same time the expected standards in all subjects were raised significantly.

Key Stage 2 Results 2017, 2018 & 2019

These bar charts illustrate the percentage of children gaining the 'achieved (expected) standard' with a scaled score of 100+ in the Reading, Mathematics and Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling (GPS) assessments. They also show the percentage of 'high attainers' who achieved a scaled score of 110+ in the three assessments.

For writing, the 'achieved standard' and 'higher attainers' were determined through teacher assessment of writing throughout the whole of Year 6.

RWM is the measure of percentage of children who gained the 'achieved standard' or were 'higher attainers' in Reading, Writing and Mathematics combined.

In all areas the children achieved a better standard of attainment in 2019 compared to Leeds and National schools.

2019 KS2 Progress

This measures the amount of progress the children made in 2019 compared to their attainment in the KS1 assessments.

Our progress is above national average in Reading and Mathematics and in line with national average in Writing.

Key Stage 1 Results 2018 & 2019

These bar charts illustrate the percentage of children in Year 2 gaining the 'expected standard' (EXS) and the percentage of children gaining the 'greater depth standard' (GDS) in Reading, Writing and Mathematics.

Teacher assessment, using the results of summative assessments and knowledge of pupil's ability, determines if a child is EXS or GDS.

RWM is the measure of the percentage of children who gained the EXS or greater level in Reading, Writing and Mathematics combined.

These graphs compare the school's attainment to that of schools in the local authority and national attainment levels.

Phonics screening results 2017, 2018 and 2019

These bar charts illustrate the percentage of children in Year 1 who passed the phonics screening check ('working at') and compares this to local authority and national levels.

It also illustrates the percentage of children who failed the check in Year 1, but were given the opportunity to retake the check in Year 2 and the percentage of these who passed.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

These bar charts illustrate the percentage of children in the Reception year group who achieved a 'Good Level of Development' (GLD) and compares this to local authority and national levels.
